I started with GoDaddy because they made it so easy to get my first domain name. Their interface is user friendly and I had no trouble setting up my site. However I have to say their hosting is average at best. My site loads decently but I have seen faster for the same price elsewhere. The real shock came when it was time to renew my domain. The fees are pretty high and I was not prepared for that jump. Also their taxes seem steep which is annoying. Overall for a beginner they are fine but for ongoing costs you need to be ready. Their support team is okay but not great when you have a complex issue. I have had a couple of moments where my account was temporarily restricted which was frustrating but it got sorted out. I am still using them because my site runs stable enough but I am always looking for a better deal.
