I started with GoDaddy because of their easy domain setup and huge selection. Their hosting is average my site works but it is not fast. The uptime has been moderate I have had a few short outages but nothing terrible. I got a VPS for my development work and it was acceptable for the money. But the renewal fees are where they get you. The first year is cheap then it jumps a lot. The domain registration costs are also high when you renew. And their taxes are high which adds insult to injury. I have had occasional account restrictions that were a pain but got resolved. Their support team is hit or miss some are helpful others are not. I would say GoDaddy offers fair performance hosting company for the basics. My site has been stable and I have not had major issues. It is a stable but costly hosting provider that works if you are willing to pay. I am still using them out of convenience not love.
