Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is a Maharatna-status Central Public Sector Enterprise under India’s Ministry of Power. Incorporated in October 1989, it is headquartered at Saudamini, Plot No. 2, Sector 29, Gurgaon, Haryana 122001, India. POWERGRID operates and maintains nearly 50% of India’s interstate and inter-regional electricity transmission network, comprising over 168,000 circuit-km of high-voltage lines and 252 EHV/HV substations, with a capacity of ~422,430 MVA . In addition to transmission, POWERGRID offers consultancy and telecom services via its subsidiary PowerGrid Teleservices Ltd (PowerTel).
