Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) is a state-owned enterprise established in 2013 (originating from the older EEPCo) and headquartered at Meba Building, Kirkos Sub-City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia .
It manages national electricity generation, high-voltage transmission (>66 kV), and major hydropower plants—including Gibe III, Koysha Hydro, and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)—with current capacity near 8,000 MW, climbing toward 11,000 MW by 2027. EEP also oversees a network of more than 20,000 km of transmission lines and operates cross-border HVDC connections like the 2,000 MW Ethiopia–Kenya interconnector and the Djibouti link .
